Rain Water Damage & Mold Prevention

Spring has been cold and rainy. Rain continues to be forecast and, if predictive weather patterns are correct, there is more rain to come.

• Inspect rain gutters and downspouts to be certain they are clear, add downspout extensions to divert water away from foundations and to prevent water damage.
• Be sure sump pumps are operating correctly.
• Examine window wells to be sure they are not collecting rain water; window well covers are effective barriers to keep rain and debris out.

Taking preventative measures against rain and water intrusion will help prevent water damage and mold growth.
