Any company performing remediation that is not following the IICRC R520 guidelines on insulation removal in attics and wall cavities should never be used. The job is not being performed correctly or up to the standards which will potentially cause severe regrowth in attics and wall cavities. Insulation is a porous material and can not be cleaned. If mold is present it is always condition 2 or 3 and is in the insulation. All ceiling joists and insulation bays can not be treated effectively without the removal of insulation. This can be referenced on page 47 Chapter 4: Building and Material Science.
